Broadoak Primary School

How will we support your child’s emotional and social development?

We recognise that some children have extra emotional and social needs that need to be developed and nurtured. These needs can manifest themselves in a number of ways, such as: behavioural difficulties, anxiousness, being withdrawn and feeling unhappy.

Our curriculum is designed to develop all aspects of a child including their emotional and social development for life. This includes promoting British Values and celebrating equality, diversity and difference. This also includes internet safety and personal safety.

As part of our school ethos, we promote Broadoak's 4 Bs: breathe, believe, bond and beyond. We actively promote emotional and social health and well being through 'Taking Care of Yourself from the Inside Out'.

All classes follow a structured PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Emotion Education) curriculum to support this development.

Place2Be are in school Tuesday and Wednesday offering Place2Talk, Journey of Hope and one to one sessions. These are allocated by assessment. The service also offers personalised parenting interventions.

School offer PIT interventions provided by the PIT team.

If your child still requires extra support, with your permission, the SENDCo may access further support through the Early Help process.
